After a long wait since the Switch 2 version was delayed for performance tweaking, FromSoftware and Bandai Namco Entertainment officially confirmed Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition will debut Nintendo Switch 2 on the day August 28, 2026. This is the most complete version to date of the open-world action role-playing game set by Hidetaka Miyazaki and novelist George R.R. Martin (author of "A Song of Ice and Fire") co-constructed.
Includes the original game and Shadow of the Erdtree
Tarnished Edition includes the full original game ELDEN RING and the critically acclaimed expansion pack Shadow of the Erdtree, allowing players on Switch 2 to access the entire Lands Between and Realm of Shadow from the first time they boot up the device.

New content: 2 character classes and Torrent customization
The most attractive feature for both new and veteran players is the completely new content that comes with this version: two never-before-seen starting character classes, along with armor sets and appearance customization options specifically for Torrent, the loyal soul steed who accompanies Tarnished throughout his journey to become an Elden Lord.

Notably, this new content pack is not exclusive to Switch 2. On the same day, August 28, a separate content pack will be available for sale. $4.99 also released on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam, meaning players who already own the game on other platforms do not need to buy the entire game again to experience the new content.

What it means: one of the biggest AAA titles coming to Switch 2
The original ELDEN RING received over 400 "Game of the Year" nominations and sold over 30 million copies worldwide, making the transfer of the entire experience, including DLC considered one of the best expansions in gaming history, to a hybrid platform like the Switch 2 a significant milestone for Nintendo's new console. This also demonstrates that the Switch 2 is capable of running even the most massive AAA games on the market today.
