01 Need to Know Before Playing ▼

Elden Ring: Nightreign is the standalone version of Elden Ring, focusing on co-op roguelite gameplay. Each "run" lasts about 40 minutes over 3 in-game days, ending with an extremely difficult Nightlord boss.

💡 Tips

If this is your first FromSoftware game, start with Class Hero (Warrior), simplest, balanced stats, easiest to learn mechanism.

Classes & Starting Points

ClassSuitableStrengthsWeakness

IroneyeHigh classSniper/ranged damageBad in close combat
  • Complete Tutorial Camp first, unlock first passive skill
  • Raise Flask to maximum on the first day of each run
  • Avoid fighting bosses when you're hungry for relics, farm more first
  • Read the Relic description carefully to know the synergy with the class
02 Combat Mechanics ▼

Nightreign combines classic Souls-like combat with roguelite mechanics. Each run you pick up Relics (items that temporarily increase your power) and build in a random direction.

Relic System

Relic is the soul of Nightreign. Each Relic has a rarity from Common → Rare → Legendary and creates synergy with each other. Prioritize synergy stacks instead of choosing single strong Relics.

⚠️ Warning

Don't pick Relic randomly without a plan. Conflict synergy will make your build weaker than playing without Relic.

Combat Fundamentals

Dodge timing, pose breaking, and positional play are the three pillars. Master dodge first, everything else can be learned later.

💡 Advanced techniques

Poise Break Combo: Use Heavy Attack → Charged Attack to stagger the enemy. Then perform Critical Strike (R1 when the enemy falls) for maximum damage.

Nightreign has 8 main Nightlord bosses and dozens of secondary field bosses. Below are the most important bosses and how to approach them.

☽ Nightlord Gael
💀 Very difficult
Boss at the end of the game. There are 3 phases, each phase changes the attack pattern completely. Prioritize dodging everything, not blocking Phase 3.
Weaknesses: Holy damage, backstab window
🔥 Furnace Golem
⚔️ Average
Climb your feet to avoid the AOE stomp. Focus hit the knee as it stopped. Avoid standing frontally.
Weaknesses: Fire resistance → use Lightning
🐺 Revenant Wolf
✅ Relatively easy
Pattern is easy to read. Dodge to the left when it jumps. Punish with 2–3 Heavy Attacks after each of its combos.
Weaknesses: Bleed, stance break
🌊 Tidal Wyrm
💀 Difficult
Do not stand in water, AOE will 1-shot. Move continuously on dry platforms. Hit the fish's gills.
Weaknesses: Lightning damage ×2
🚨 Dangerous
