Gears of War: E-Day has officially gone gold, according to Pure Xbox. The game opens pre-load on September 29, 2026 (8 a.m. Pacific), with early access from October 1 and full launch on October 6, 2026.

Story
The game is set 14 years before the first Gears of War, on Emergence Day as the Locust Horde emerges. The creative director compared its inspiration to "Band of Brothers" and "Saving Private Ryan", stressing brotherhood between Coalition soldiers.

Technical Highlights
According to Wikipedia, the technical director said Unreal Engine 5 delivers over 100 times more environment and character detail than Gears 5. The campaign runs at 60 fps and multiplayer up to 120 fps on Xbox Series X, alongside dynamic destruction and reworked movement.
