Neowiz and Round8 Studio have officially released Lies of P: Complete Edition on Nintendo Switch 2 as of August 6, 2026, the first time this Pinocchio-inspired soulslike has appeared on a Nintendo platform.
What is in the Complete Edition
This edition includes the original Lies of P (2023) and the full Overture expansion, which was previously sold separately, along with every post-launch update and new difficulty and challenge modes. The Switch 2 version is optimized for the hardware, and a day-one patch added a dedicated Performance mode for handheld play.
Price and physical edition
The digital edition costs $69.99. The physical release is planned for October 2, 2026 through iam8bit, with the full game on the cartridge and no additional download required; the iam8bit Edition also includes a set of six Boss Lore Cards.

Why does Lies of P matter on Switch 2? Lies of P is a “soulslike,” a genre of hard action RPG inspired by the Dark Souls series, known for combat that demands precise dodging and parrying and for frequent death as part of the learning process. The game reinterprets the Pinocchio story in a dark way, placing the wooden puppet in a decaying steampunk city. Soulslike games are usually demanding on hardware and rarely run well on mobile hardware, so seeing Lies of P: Complete Edition, which was already well regarded technically on PS5 and Xbox, run stably on Switch 2 is an important test of whether the genre can work on Nintendo’s hybrid console.
Performance
According to early reviews, Performance mode when docked targets around 1080p and 60 FPS; Balanced runs at around 45 FPS; Quality goes up to 4K but only 30 FPS. In handheld mode, Performance drops to around 720p with the frame rate fluctuating around 40–45 FPS (still fairly smooth thanks to VRR), and some outlets say handheld mode needs further optimization.

OtaHub’s take
The large frame-rate gap between graphics modes (60 FPS in Performance but only 30 FPS in Quality) reflects the real hardware limits of Switch 2 when running a lighting-heavy soulslike. It is not a surprise, but it is important information for players choosing a mode before buying, because for a genre that demands precise reflexes, frame-rate stability usually matters more than high resolution. The physical edition carrying the whole game on the cartridge with no extra download is also a rare plus in an era when many AAA games ship as an “empty box” with a download code.
