CD Projekt Red and SEGA each took three trophies at the 2026 gamescom awards, but their wins came from different parts of the show. CD Projekt Red was recognised for its Witcher presentation, while SEGA won for audio, a PC game and its overall lineup.
Gamescom 2026 welcomed visitors from 131 countries
The Cologne event closed on August 30 with 368,000 visitors. International attendance increased by 6% compared with the previous year. The show floor also drew a substantial overseas presence, with 72% of its 1,743 exhibitors coming from outside Germany.
Those exhibitors represented 66 countries and occupied around 233,000 square metres. Exhibitor numbers rose 11% from 2025, with the entire exhibition space fully booked for the first time.
Alongside its public attractions, the event welcomed more than 36,000 trade visitors for industry meetings and business opportunities. Around half travelled from abroad. The gamescom dev developer conference recorded 6,200 registrations, up 15% year on year.

How CD Projekt Red and SEGA earned their three awards
The August 28 ceremony recognised games, booths and presentations across 19 categories. A publisher’s trophy count therefore includes more than awards for the games themselves.
CD Projekt Red received the jury’s Best Booth award for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Songs of the Past. Fans selected the expansion’s pin and medallion for Best Merch, and the trailer for The Witcher 3 Remastered and Songs of the Past won the audience vote for Best Trailer / Announcement.
SEGA won Best Audio for Alien: Isolation 2 and Best PC Game for Total War: WARHAMMER 40,000. Its third trophy was the jury’s Best Lineup award for the range of games it brought to the event.
Capcom earned two awards with Onimusha: Way of the Sword, which won Best Gameplay and Best Sony PlayStation Game. Ubisoft also took two trophies, for Rayman Legends Retold on Nintendo Switch 2 and its business lounge.
