Nagoshi Studio's dissolution was published in Japan's official gazette, Kanpo, on November 2, 2026. The notice on page 176 of extra issue No. 240 states that the company dissolved by a shareholders' resolution dated October 31. The studio was developing Gang of Dragon, an action-adventure starring actor Ma Dong-seok.
Toshihiro Nagoshi is known for creating the Yakuza series. NetEase introduced Nagoshi Studio in January 2022 with a focus on console games for a global audience. Its announcement described the company as a wholly owned subsidiary of NetEase Games.
Gang of Dragon brings Ma Dong-seok to Kabukicho
Gang of Dragon is set in Tokyo's Shinjuku district, including the Kabukicho nightlife area. Ma Dong-seok portrays Shin Ji-seong, a senior member of a Korean crime syndicate operating there.
The game's description places Shin in underworld conflicts and relationships that force him to reconsider his purpose. Its announced third-person combat combines hand-to-hand fighting, blade attacks, gunplay and vehicle action.

The game's future remains unconfirmed
As of November 3, 2026, Gang of Dragon's Steam page still lists its release date as “Coming soon”. Nagoshi Studio remains named as both developer and publisher.
However, the dissolution notice does not address cancellation of Gang of Dragon or a transfer of the project. The Steam listing therefore does not establish that development will continue or that the game will be released.
