1. A Surprise Reveal At ONE PIECE DAY '26
The announcement came at the very end of the ONE PIECE DAY '26 event, right after the results of the second global character popularity poll were revealed (with Luffy taking the top spot). One Piece Film: God Valley will officially premiere in Japan in Summer 2027. This is the project Oda previously teased at Jump Festa 2026, hinting it was "about something I'm sure all of you will be very interested in."
2. Bringing The Legendary God Valley Incident To The Screen
True to its title, the film will depict the God Valley Incident: the iconic battle in which Gol D. Roger teamed up with Monkey D. Garp to take down the Rocks Pirates. The God Valley flashback is currently unfolding in the Elbaph arc. The director and staff have not yet been announced.

3. Film "BAAD" Revealed For 2029
Right after the God Valley announcement video, Toei surprised fans further by unveiling One Piece Film: BAAD: slated for 2029. The title's key art was drawn personally by creator Eiichiro Oda, further fueling anticipation from the global fanbase.
4. The Bigger Picture: Elbaph Arc And Live-Action Season 3
The announcement lands during an especially active stretch for the franchise: the TV anime officially entered the Elbaph Arc in April 2026 after a three-month break, the live-action series just revealed its cast for Koza, Chaka, Pell, and Toto ahead of a Season 3 set in Alabasta, and the most recent theatrical film, One Piece Film Red (2022), still holds the franchise's record for the highest opening-weekend gross.
