After five television seasons, Date A Live continues in the theatrical film Date A Live F: Last Date. Opening in Japan on March 26, 2027, the all-new animation is introduced as Shido and Tohka's final chapter.
Shido and Tohka reach their final chapter
Date A Live follows Shido Itsuka, a student who can seal Spirits' powers with a kiss. He seeks to save these girls and help them coexist with humanity instead of destroying them. Tohka Yatogami is the first Spirit he meets and saves through that ability.
Last Date follows the conflict with DEM. Just as Shido and the Spirits appear able to return to peaceful everyday life, a truth written in Raziel, a book containing knowledge of the world, signals another disturbance. Shido and Tohka's story moves toward its final confrontation.
The film continues the main narrative rather than compiling earlier seasons. For newcomers, the television series provides the background to Shido's determination to protect the Spirits and his relationship with Tohka.
Fugaku handles the animation
Junji Nishimura directs, Fumihiko Shimo writes the screenplay and Naoto Nakamura designs the characters. Fugaku, credited in Japanese as 冨嶽, produces the animation, while ANIMEC distributes the film.
Nobunaga Shimazaki and Marina Inoue return as Shido and Tohka. The cast also includes Misuzu Togashi as Origami, Ayana Taketatsu as Kotori and Asami Sanada as Kurumi. The film is based on Koushi Tachibana's light novels, illustrated by Tsunako.
March 26 is the Japanese theatrical date
The teaser is available on the official film website. March 26, 2027 applies to Japan; viewers in Vietnam should look for a separate announcement from a local distributor.
