Black Clover Season 2 will air its first episode at 11:00 p.m. on October 3, 2026 on TV Tokyo, continuing the fight against the Dark Triad. Meanwhile, Witch Hat Atelier finished its first season of 13 episodes at the end of June and has been officially confirmed for a second season. Two trailers announced around the same time have now led to two different states: one series about to return, and one that has moved into the wait for its next season.
Black Clover Season 2: schedule and story
- TV Tokyo: Saturdays at 11:00 p.m., starting October 3, 2026.
- BS TV Tokyo: starting October 7 at 12:00 a.m.
- Early streaming in Japan: Anime Times, Lemino, U-NEXT and Anime Hodai from 12:00 p.m. on October 4.
- Main staff: Ayataka Tanemura directs, Keiichiro Ochi handles series composition, Itsuko Takeda designs the characters and Studio Pierrot produces.
The new season continues after the training period in the Heart Kingdom. The Dark Triad, Dante, Zenon and Vanica, use the power of devils to attack the kingdoms and capture Yami and William Vangeance. Asta must learn to harness the power of Liebe, while the Magic Knights split into several rescue teams. New viewers should watch the series up to episode 170 first, because season 2 does not restart the story.
The official website confirms that Gakuto Kajiwara, Nobunaga Shimazaki, Kana Yuki and Junichi Suwabe return as Asta, Yuno, Noelle and Yami. The Dark Triad are voiced by Rikiya Koyama, Tatsuhisa Suzuki and Yui Ogura respectively. This is firmer information than speculation about the episode count; the official schedule has not yet announced the season’s total length.
Witch Hat Atelier: season 1 is over, season 2 is confirmed
The adaptation of Kamome Shirahama’s manga aired from April 6 to the end of June 2026 for 13 episodes. On June 29, the official site confirmed that season 2 is in production; a follow-up teaser was announced in early July. There is no air date for the new season yet, so the specific release dates circulating should not be treated as official information.
The story follows Coco, a girl who has always believed she cannot use magic. After seeing Qifrey draw special symbols, Coco discovers a secret: magic is not only an innate ability but can be activated with drawings and the right kind of ink. A serious mistake forces her to become Qifrey’s apprentice, learning to fix the consequences while stepping into a world of witches with many hidden rules.
How are the two series alike and different?
Both Asta and Coco start out in the position of supposedly “having no magic,” but the two works develop that very differently. Black Clover uses fast-paced combat, a large ensemble and a spirit of surpassing limits. Witch Hat Atelier emphasizes technique, the ethics of using magic and the consequences of monopolized knowledge. One suits people who want to follow a long-running climax; the other leans toward exploring a world and making choices where right and wrong are hard to tell apart.
At this point, the most reliable information is the October 3 premiere schedule for Black Clover and the green light for Witch Hat Atelier season 2. The episode count of Black Clover season 2 and the air schedule of Witch Hat Atelier season 2 still need new announcements.
