Rockstar Games has just confirmed an unprecedented step in its trailer release history: the third trailer of Grand Theft Auto VI will debut exclusively on Netflix on August 27, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. ET (3:00 p.m. US time), before being widely posted on Rockstar's official channels at 9:00 p.m. ET the same day, 6 hours later than the Netflix release.

Rockstar first embarked on a streaming platform
This marks the first time Rockstar Games has chosen a streaming partner to release promotional content for a game, instead of relying solely on YouTube and social media as is customary. Brandon Riegg, Vice President of Unscripted and Live Content at Netflix, shared that this partnership reflects the pop culture status of GTA 6, one of the most anticipated entertainment products of the decade, extending beyond the gaming industry.
New key art: Jason and Lucia in the sunset Leonida
Along with the announcement, Rockstar released a new set of key art depicting the two main characters, Jason and Lucia, with bandanas covering their faces, standing in front of a gas station under the characteristic purplish-pink sunset of the fictional state of Leonida. Lucia brandishes a handgun while Jason pulls the bandana up to cover his face, reminiscent of the familiar art style from previous trailers of the series.
More than 3 months left until launch date
GTA 6 still maintains the same release schedule 19/11/2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with a PC version expected later. Rockstar has been offering pre-orders since June 2026 in two versions: a standard version priced at $80 and an Ultimate Edition priced at $100. This will be the third trailer in the game's extended promotional campaign, following two previous trailers that set YouTube view records in their first 24 hours.
